I love Java and I’m next to gets some certification from Sun MicroSystems…

Favourite Basketball Player

My Favourite Basketball Player

This is an hard topic… Because I’m a basketball player, and I have some idols here… I can’t forget Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson… But is monotonous to say that one of these players is my favourite… This is a logical thing.

So that… I decided to choose Steve Kerr, because he reppresented my way to play the game.

He was born the 27th September in Beirut, Lebanon, he won The Three Point Shootout at the NBA All Star Game 1997.

From 1996 to 1998 Steve won three NBA Titles with The Chicago Bulls of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Kerr played a major part of the Bulls’ victory in the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. In the final seconds of Game 6, with the score tied at 86, he took a pass from Michael Jordan and hit the game-clinching shot. The Bulls won the game, earning back-to-back championships for the first time in four seasons.

During the 1998 off-season, Kerr was traded to the San Antonio Spurs, where he spent the rest of his career, save for the 2001–02 season with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Spurs made it to the Finals for the first time in their history, and Kerr won his fourth ring in a row when the Spurs beat the New York Knicks for the 1999 NBA championship. He is the only non-Boston Celtic to win four straight NBA titles.

In the 2003 playoffs, Kerr made key contributions in Game Six of the Spurs’ Western Conference Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks. Among those were four clutch three-pointers that helped to eliminate the Mavericks. The Spurs eventually won the NBA championship that year by beating the New Jersey Nets in a six-game Finals series, led by Kerr, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginóbili, among others.

Kerr announced his retirement after the 2003 NBA Finals.

Favourite Baseball Player

My Favourite Baseball Player Hideki Matsui, this is the name of my own personal baseball favourite player. He was born in Kanazawa the 12th of June in 1974. He is a three-time MVP in The japanese Central League (1996, 2000 and 2002). He led his team at four Japan Series and winning three titles (1994, 2000 and 2002).

In Japan he earned the fantastic nickname of “Godzilla”, this nickname’s got two faces, because it could be derisive in reference to Matsui’s skin problem early on his career… But this nick reppresent prefectly his powerful hitting.

In December 2002, Hideki signed a contract with the New York Yankees, my favourite baseball team :) .

The Godzilla start was unbelivable, on his first game at The Yankees Stadium he hit a grand slam (First Time in Yankees’ history). The ‘Godzilla’ song of Blue Oyster Cult is palyed when he go up to bat.

On June 12, 2008, Matsui hit a grand slam on his 34th birthday, helping the Yankees to a 4-1 victory over the A’s.

On June 12, 2009, Matsui hit a three-run home run on his 35th birthday, giving the Yankees a 7-6 lead over the New York Mets in the 6th inning.

In the 2009 World Series, Matsui helped the Yankees defeat the defending champion Philadelphia Phillies, 4 games to 2, by hitting .615 (8 for 13) with 3 home runs and 8 RBI, including a World Series record-tying 6-RBI performance in Game 6. Since the designated hitter position was not used in the three games in Philadelphia, he only started the three games in New York; nevertheless, his performance earned him the World Series Most Valuable Player Award. He became the first Japanese-born player to win the award, as well as the first player to win it as a full-time designated hitter in the Series. He also became the third player in major league history to bat .500 or above and hit 3 home runs in the same world series, joining only Babe Ruth (who also hit above .600) and Lou Gehrig.

Matsui announced to the press on March 27, 2008 that he had married in a private ceremony in New York. His bride’s name has not been announced, but it is reported that she was 25 years old and had been formerly working in a “reputable position at a highly respected company”. Hideki only show to the jounalist a portray of his wife, becasuse he wants to defend his wife’s privacy.
